The Importance of Exercise in Your Morning Routine

Chasing Dopamine & Serotonin.

Dopamine and serotonin help fight against depression and anxiety. These two hormones occur naturally during exercise. If you want to encourage neurochemistry that helps fight depression and anxiety, exercising can help. We all know getting motivated to exercise can be difficult. 

What are the keys to daily exercise?

(1) A commitment to Self. 

Viewing this time as self-investment in emotional wellness will increase the likelihood of sustainability and reduce the dependence on physical results.

(2) A manageable intensity 

Believe it or not, it is unnecessary to push yourself to the extreme during your morning fitness routine. A brisk 25-minute walk, yoga, or stretching is effective!

(3) Establish a routine

Look at your schedule and determine the best time to exercise. I suggest the morning, but if the morning doesn't work, pick a time during the day that is right for you. Now put it on your calendar. If you don't calendar it, you won't plan for it, which means you won't establish a routine.  

Remember - both dopamine and serotonin are naturally occurring hormones that help fight against depression and anxiety. Physical exercise is a common way of investing in your emotional health!
